1to1 Media's Tom Hoffman speaks with Bluewolf Managing Director Randy Rodriguez about the importance for financial services firms to become more trustworthy in the eyes of their customers.

Watch Faith Meisenger from ING Direct as she explains how Bluewolf and salesforce.com transformed their customer service experience in the cloud. Faith explains how Bluewolf’s combination of technical expertise, cultural fit, and honest, direct communication helped ING Direct create an innovative new solution that was on-time, over scope, and under budget.

We are at a multi-billion dollar financial services company discussing a potential cloud initiative—this company’s first--with hopes to launch this summer, when the daffodils are drooped and the wispy New England grass shows its brown.  The goal?  Establish a centralized customer “profile” to be accessed by sales, marketing, and operations, which collects and categorizes all client information, including contact detail, account detail, insurance policy detail, and broker relationship detail.

Imagine running an 18-division financial services firm like this where each division may or may not have customers in common. You may have a mortgage department, a banking division, an auto finance department, a home lending department, etc. that are all functional, but with very different business processes and each division is completely siloed and blind to the others.

Challenge

Daiwa Securities America, which has an IT infrastructure that includes Oracle, SQL Server, and Sybase, needed to augment the coverage provided by its fulltime DBA, but couldn’t justify the cost of a second position. As a global financial services firm, Daiwa Securities America cannot afford to maintain anything less than complete 24x7 data uptime and availability.

Solution
