Bluewolf Announces Sponsorship of the First Tee, San Francisco's Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 13
San Francisco, CA, October 11, 2008 - Bluewolf (www.bluewolf.com) today announced its title sponsorship for the First Tee's Annual Golf Tournament, held on October 13th, at the Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, the location for the 2009 Presidents Cup. The First Tee provides affordable access to the game of golf and strives to instill in young people the life-enhancing values of the game of golf.
"We are committed to our local communities and are glad to support the First Tee San Francisco and its valuable programs for underserved youths," said Eric Berridge, co-founder and principal of Bluewolf, the largest technology consulting firm for Software-as-a-Service, Open Source and Cloud Computing. "Even during these tough economic times, Bluewolf is dedicated to helping young people through programs like The First Tee and the Bluewolf Scholarship college program, for New York City high school students."
With philanthropy as a central value, Bluewolf supports its surrounding communities through financial contributions, community volunteers, and product and service donations for non-profit organizations throughout North America. In addition to the First Tee, Bluewolf sponsors a four-year scholarship program for New York City high school students with an annual award of $2,000 to be used for tuition at an accredited college or university of the student's choice. Bluewolf also offers its technology consulting services at a discount to non-profit groups.
The First Tee San Francisco program includes two offerings: one golf focused, the other on life skills and values. Students ages 6-17 attend instructional classes that take place in both a classroom setting and on the golf course. More than 1,000 kids in the San Francisco area are served by The First Tee programs.
The First Tee was founded in 1997 by the World Golf Association as an initiative to create affordable access for those not previously exposed to the game, and has become a preeminent youth development organization. Teaching life skills and character education through the game of golf, The First Tee has a positive impact on participants, their families and their communities.
