Bluewolf equips grads for in-demand Salesforce skills
The most common theme we hear from our customers is we must “do more with less,” which can be extremely challenging from an IT perspective. With IT costs being such a burden, executives are looking to cloud technologies like Salesforce to innovate quickly, generate ROI, and drive results for their organizations. A recent McKinsey Report found that 70% of technology companies are hiring, but cannot find the appropriate skill set to help make this shift from on-premise software to the cloud.
Here at Bluewolf we are ahead of the curve. Being born in the cloud and having worked as a partner of salesforce.com for 12+ years, we know how to help companies migrate and drive business growth in the cloud.
But this rapid transition to the cloud has created a gap between the high demand for skilled employees and number of qualified individuals to fill those posts. In response, Bluewolf is working with Northeastern University to accelerate training on Salesforce and the Force.com platform. Northeastern is renowned for its Cooperative Education Program (co-op) and was also recently named by Princeton Review the No. 1 university for Best Career Services.
Bluewolf has proudly participated in this cooperative effort for several years, giving Northeastern students the opportunity to work at our offices in New York City, San Francisco, and London. The program is aimed at exposing students to enterprise challenges while still in college, so that these students are better prepared to enter the job market, armed with real-world experiences and skill sets. Through their work experience with Bluewolf, Northeastern students are introduced to Salesforce and shown the importance of Salesforce education in many company’s day-to-day endeavors.
More employers are specifying Salesforce as a preferred skill set in their job descriptions. Recently, Justin Wu, a current Northeastern student, shared his thoughts on the importance of Salesforce: “Salesforce is a powerful and useful program that many companies are using or looking to use. In the future, I want to work in IT consulting and I believe learning the front and back end of Salesforce will be extremely beneficial for my future profession.”
But it’s not just students seeing the rapid growth of Salesforce. According to Gartner’s latest report on the IT Competitive Landscape:
“CRM projects based on salesforce.com have increased from 11% to 16% between 2010 and 2012 and anticipates the overall IT services market for consulting and implementation services related to salesforce.com CRM solutions will grow to approximately $5 billion, a 30% growth.”
